The Building Project

March 2, 2008 Announcement

We are so thankful to the Lord for His many blessings to the Harvest family.  As we seek the Lord's direction and vision for Harvest and the facilities He desires to fulfill the ministries He has planned, the leadership of  Harvest wants to keep the Harvest family up-to-date with what is happening.

HISTORY

For those who are new to Harvest, click here to see where we've come from.  We have added parking many times and will be adding more again! 

Harvest has gone through 2 building phases (click here to view).  In 2000, we added our current sanctuary and surrounding classroom space.  Children's Ministry Wing was completed in 2006, and is used to capacity throughout the week.

CURRENT SITUATION

Our present land (12 acres) is not big enough to continue to build on.  Requirements for set-back from the road, storm water retention, septic field and parking regulations eat up any available space.

The Deacon Board has requested the Building Committee to send out RFPs (Request For Proposals) to different architecture firms for a phased development plan for current land and any future land acquisition.  Please be in prayer for our church leadership, deacon board, and building committee. 

FINANCIAL GOALS

The Lord has always provided through the sacrificial giving of His people for the needs at Harvest.  The original building's 7-year loan was paid off in 4 years.  The present sanctuary 7-year loan was fulfilled in 4.5 years.  Lord-willing, the children's ministry wing will be paid off in the next 2-2.5 years, keeping the trend going.

GOD'S PROVISION

An additional 19 acres is in the process of being given to Harvest Baptist Church by a family in the church.  This $1 million + gift brings us to a total of 31 acres!  Not only this family, but others have the caught the vision and are giving sacrificially!  Be encouraged with God's goodness to us, and committ to being obedient with the Lord's resources.  All praise and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
