Secure Online Giving
"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Online giving is a convenient way to give tithes and offerings to Harvest. It eliminates the need to write checks and enables you to give from anywhere at any time. If you miss a Sunday, you will still be able to give.
How can I give online? You may give using your bank account via an electronic funds transfer (EFT) or you may use a debit/credit card.
Who can participate in online giving?Anyone who wishes to give to Harvest and has a checking or savings account can participate. You do not need to be a member of Harvest to give online.
What if I am not a member of Harvest, but I want to make a donation? No problem. You can still make a contribution and you will be credited for your online giving.
Do I incur a charge for using online giving? There is no cost to you.
Can I designate which funds I give to?As of right now, the giving of tithes and offerings may only be given to the General Fund. Specific designations need to be given by check.
If I set up online giving, can I still give by check from time to time?Yes. You have total freedom to choose how and when you give.
What if I try online giving and don't like it?There is no requirement to use online giving. It is very easy to stop making online giving transactions whenever you desire.
Who do I contact when I have questions or concerns? If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Harvest Business Administrator ( 630-554-3858).
Is it safe to give to Harvest online?Online giving is less risky than handwritten checks. Your gift cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed in the mail. The system has a high rate of accuracy and is easy for the church to process. Harvest's online giving system is also certified to the strict standards of the Payment Card Industry (PCI). These standards require a safe online transaction environment and periodic security audits to remain certified. You may click on the privacy and security link at the bottom of the online giving page when you set up your transaction to learn more.
Why is it beneficial to set up an account? An account enables you to change your personal information, view transaction history and edit your transactions. When you give online from your account, you do not need to re-enter your address information each time you give. Without an account, you can give online, but you will not be able to view transaction history and will need to complete your information each time. We recommend that you set up an account the first time you give.
Can I choose to give on my own schedule each month? You may choose to give immediately, on a specified date, on a recurring schedule, or any combination of the above. It is completely up to you. Recurring options include weekly, every two weeks, or monthly transactions.
How do I set up to give on a certain day of the month, each month? To set up a gift to occur on a specific day each month, check both the "Run this transaction on a future date" and the "Make this a recurring transaction" boxes. Choose the date from the calendar, then the frequency and duration from the drop down boxes.
Can I edit a transaction if I made a mistake, or want to change it?Yes, as long as the transaction has not yet been sent for processing at your bank. The transaction status will change from "Pending" to "In Process" when the transaction has been sent to your bank. Simply access your account through "Login to My Account" and edit your transaction.
How is online giving deducted from my account? When you set up an online giving transaction, you are authorizing an EFT(electronic funds transfer) directly from your bank account to Harvest.
What if I change bank accounts? If you change bank accounts, you can access your online giving account to stop any recurring transactions to your old bank account, and set up a new giving schedule with your new bank account number.
Do I need a Harvest envelope number? An envelope number is not required, but it is highly encouraged. The envelope number aids us in correctly crediting your church giving record. If you cannot easily locate your envelope number, you may still give online. Either way, your giving record will be credited for your giving.
Can I review a summary of my giving to Harvest on the web?You will be able to review all of your online giving transactions if you created an online giving account. However, you will not be able to review any gifts given by check or cash on the web site. Harvest will also send you a contribution statement with a record all of your tax-deductible gifts to Harvest, including both online gifts and gifts given by check or cash.
How will my online giving transaction appear on my bank statement?Your bank statement will list a transaction from Harvest Baptist Church. However, your bank may shorten the name, e.g. HBC.
